I was thinking about the alesis trigger iO because of the USB, probably that would make it faster, or the alesis DM Dock, in which I could probably use the iMaschine app in case there is no other solution. I have done some research and found out that most drum modules output above 4ms of latency in the midi output and was wondering if you could recommend me a different module that would have less latency.
We currently have it set up the following way:Īlesis DM5 > Midi Cable > RME Fireface UC > Mac Mini 2012 (8gb ram, 2.3ghz i8, SSD Drive) running Ableton Live 32 samples 44.1hz(which is about 4.5ms of latency).Įverything (guitars with guitar rig, synths with usb pad controllers) works fine without any noticeable latency except the drums. I have made a band with a couple of friends and we want to combine an acoustic drum kit with a digital drum kit by using triggers (mainly just for kick and snare to make it sound heavier and a couple of pads for extra sounds).
